We had The Sweet Potato Project youth and Sylvester Brown visiting CEL Center for Architecture + Design Stl. It was such a great day, students came up with very interesting questions, and had a thought-provoking discussions with some jaw-dropping ideas ideas and sketches for a Sweet Potato Farm and Building!
We had some serious overarching design related questions: how design effects their lives, neighborhoods, the City, … some strong design ideas and needs for a ‘Sweet Potato Farm + Entrepreneurial HUB + Building’ and what they want it to look like … remarkable how many good simple solutions these young man and women had to offer about our daily urban challenges, how to help improve neighborhoods and boy there was so many fun and strong ideas how they want the Sweet potato project HUB to look like, … they drew details of what type of accommodation their entrepreneurial venture requires to be successful …talked to the students about the process of creating spaces that are in line with their passions and desires. We also spent time making rudimentary drafts of the Sweet Potato Project’s future facilities.
